the Galley
Here are a few images of Reynolés Galley, one of the top home Tiki bars in Portland, OR. Check out the Reynolés Galley info page on Critiki!
Construction on the Galley started in late 2007, with the “finishing touches” put on just before the home bar tour for Tiki Kon V in July, 2007. Craig helped build the bar structure, while my wife spent a good few days with hammer and nail putting up the walls, and Heather provided decor and design assistance. Building materials were mostly bought through the Rebuilding Center, with decoration from various Goodwills, estate sales, and ebay.
And here’s a short video walking through the Galley. That music is coming from a 5.1 Surround Sound system made for home computers. It cost about $30 at Goodwill. The music is being played by an old laptop, where I also have a drink menu and drinks cheat sheet.
